Osceola County, Florida- New training to begin soon                                    Back
Deputy Ron Kelley, lead driving instructor for the Osceloa County Sheriff's Office introduced the agencies new training ciriculum on Emergency Vehicle Operations to the rest of the training staff Friday morning. He has totally revamped the old ciriculum as well as having secured the use of a partially developed sub-division complete with roads and signs and minus any homes-an outstanding training venue. The new program focuses on the critical thinking process of emergency/pursuit driving as well as the legal, ethical, and operational aspects.  Particular attention is given to the safety issues involved. Osceola County has caught the attention of other departments accross the state with this new and inovative program. It was my priveledge to speak to that meeting. I was gratified by my warm reception and the receptiveness of the Deputies to Sarah's message. Thank you Ron.  Jim Phillips 9/10/03
