A rollover crash has left one woman dead in Los Lunas early Thursday.  Investigators believe she was fleeing a burglary at an elementary school.

State Police Lt. Robert San Roman says a Valencia County deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle outside Mariposa Elementary School around 1:30 a.m.

The deputy says the car fled the scene without any lights on and then drove through a red stoplight.

The deputy gave chase, but lost track of the vehicle since it had no lights.  The car was soon found rolled over into a home near the intersection of Highways 263 and 47.

A woman inside the car was ejected in the crash.  She died at the scene.

Deputies returned to the school to discover a portable classroom had been broken into and several computers lying outside.

Valencia County investigators are looking into whether another suspect may have assisted the woman and fled after the rollover crash.

State police is assisting in the investigation.
